for success in today's dynamic business world. Courses are taught by doctorally
qualified faculty who, through their scholarly work and consulting activities,
are at the forefront of their disciplines.
A. Foundation Skills
All candidates for admission to the MBA program must demonstrate proficiency in
computer skills. Proficiency may be established by successfully completing
college level course work within five years of admission to the MBA program or
by passing a proficiency exam provided through the MBA office.
B. Survey Courses - up to 18 credit hours
Students whose undergraduate educational preparation does not include
accounting, economics, finance, marketing, operational research or statistics

D. Independent Study
Normally, all credits applied toward meeting MBA Program
graduation requirements are expected to be accomplished through enrollment
in scheduled classes offered in regular university graduate study schedules.
In exceptional cases, the College of Business Graduate Committee may approve
enrollment in an independent study for elective credit toward program
requirements, subject to the following restrictions and limitations:
- Normally, not more than three semester hours credit may be granted
through independent study for application toward program graduation
requirements.
- Registration in an independent study course will be permitted only after
approval of the College of Business Graduate Committee. Applications
for an independent study course are available from the MBA Program Office.
- Applicants for independent study must be in good standing academically.
- Applications for independent study registration approval must be
accompanied by a detailed proposal, which clearly defines the nature and
scope of the project with the advice and guidance of a graduate faculty
member willing to serve as a project director and containing the faculty
member's comments and acceptance of project director responsibilities.
Proposals must contain sufficient information, including a detailed
procedural plan, methodology, and anticipated outcomes to clearly
demonstrate that the project will provide a professional learning experience
comparable to graduate level coursework.
- In the event an independent study course is not completed within the
semester originated, University policy for removal of incomplete grades (IN)
will govern.
E. Retention
No more than two grades below a "B" in
graduate core courses
will be accepted toward the MBA degree. Upon receipt of the third grade
below a "B" in any three graduate core courses, the student will
be academically dismissed from the program.
A student who is academically dismissed may appeal to the
College of Business Graduate Committee. |
