Dr. Valentine received his B.S. from Southern New Hampshire University (then New Hampshire College) in Business Education in 1973, his M.S. from the University of Bridgeport in Secondary Education in 1975, and his Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University in Vocational Education in 1986. Prior to coming to USI Dr. Valentine was the Coordinator of Business Education at Northwest Missouri State University from 1985 – 1987.

At the present time, Dr. Valentine is the Director for the Center for Economic Education and Coordinator of Business Teacher Education at USI. Dr. Valentine was also a high school business teacher from 1973-1983 and taught at Shelton High School, Shelton, CT. During that time, he taught: Accounting, Recordkeeping, Business Math, Keyboarding, Introduction to Computers, Office Machines/Office Practice, Shorthand, and Economics.
